With over a decade of experience in database research and software development, I am currently building SmartApps, a company that turns data into intelligence. My passion is to apply database concepts to data systems for performance and scale, and to leverage AI to create innovative and user-friendly applications.My overarching ambition is to build a one-size-fits-all system that eases the pain of end users by supporting several different workloads in a single system. I have published 80+ papers in top conferences and journals, filed 15+ patents, and received 4 awards for my contributions to the database field. I completed my postdoctoral studies at MIT, doctoral degree at Saarland University, Masters from Max Planck Institute for Informatics, and undergrads from IIT Kanpur.
