I'm proud to be part of Feinknopf Macioce Schappa Architects, the oldest architectural firm in Columbus. They have been creating great places for over 90 years. Most of my work to date has been with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources including work on State Park properties and creative reuse of some truly unique and historic buildings. I have also led projects for municipalities and small commercial enterprises. I have enjoyed broadening my role to include working directly with the client to align vision and budget, and influencing all aspects of my projects from concept to specifications. In addition I have been involved with numerous bank draw inspections in Ohio, Kentucky and Michigan. I am a certified Accessibility Inspector/ Plans Examiner. I have learned a lot already and am optimistic about my ability to positively impact this region.

I have been active in the Columbus COTE for the past several years and am the past chair of the committee. (2013-2014) Our Charrette set in the year 2050 challenged designers to solve problems associated with global climate change without ignoring the qualities great architecture can bring to life. It included participants from local design firms and academic institutions and was a big success. I was the Program Coordinator for the AIA+2030 Professional Series, a comprehensive 10 session 40 hour series that focused on achieving energy savings in buildings. This series was well attended and was a moneymaker for the chapter. I received the president's award for my efforts. I continue to plan and set up events focused on preserving and bettering our environment through intelligent design decisions. This year, our COTEducation series highlights a number of ways architects can enhance their positive impact by incorporating sustainable practices in their design process.

I helped to organize Columbus, Ohio's branch of the international phenomenon Pecha Kucha! (Now in over 600 cities around the world) Every 3 months we gather artists, architects, craftspeople, community activists, and other interesting and creative folks to share their passion with us in PK format: 20 slides, 20 seconds per slide. We also have local bands, local foods and live arts presentations available before the events and during intermission. Our events are held at venues all over the city and can draw over 1000 people.

10 years at NBBJ were memorable- I learned a lot and got to work with some truly inspiring people designing important buildings in China, Russia and the Middle East. I helped conceptualize, design and detail mixed use developments and hospitals on 4 continents. I was project architect on a corporate headquarters in the Ural mountains in Russia for a potassium mining company. We won this project in an international competition and it should be a big catalyst for the area. I was also PA for medical planning on the Kuwait Cancer Center- one of the largest and most sophisticated dedicated cancer hospitals in the world. Another key project I was involved with is The Housing Bank of Trade and Finance (HBTF) in Amman Jordan. It is nearing completion and looking good. I spent nearly 1 year in Dubai running CA full time on the Harvard Medical School Dubai Center. I have been BIM lead on many projects and am proficient in the use of revit on large, complicated projects. I am a LEED AP BD+C , and am passionate about reducing negative impacts of buildings on the environment.

I helped organize swing dancing events in Columbus, Ohio. I have recruited DJ's and bands for swing dance events as music coordinator since 2006, handing off in 2012. I have run planning and logistics including technical and physical setup for swing dance events since 2005. I also have taught several forms of swing dancing and DJ'd for many events around the country. I have also DJ'd and taught swing dancing in China and the Middle East. Swing Columbus' largest 4 day events attract international crowds of over 200. Team SwingColumbus continues to wow crowds with their creativity and light-hearted choreography. My wife and I still enjoy dancing socially but no longer compete as part of Team SwingColumbus.

Periodically I have taught design studios at OSU. I have done so since my graduation from OSU's MArch program. In addition I have participated in juries and design reviews at OSU, BGSU and Miami U.
