MIS is more about system of collecting and processing information about market and the company in the market rather then IT information system. I have managed collecting inner and outer information from both inner and outer sources from sales staff to competitors employees and open sources. An important source was an app (xpath + C# + SQL) collecting info from competitors open resources. All this info I used in my marketing research and periodical reviews and reports. My reports for this subject allowed to redefine company strategy, reposition half of the product brands and develop counter-crysis plan being fullfilled now. It is well known historians have to work with very complex material about very special subject - human and human society.
