About Vasily Alekseenko
I’m the founder of one of the fastest-growing communities of startup founders and investors in London. In February 2023, I started with an event in a pub, managing to attract 500 registrations and 250 attendees with no marketing budget and zero cost. I came up with a unique concept of networking and one mic pitching. Words do a poor job of describing my events, as what’s unique is the vibe we create each time. This turned into monthly events. A year later, this grew into a semi-annual conference for investors with another unique concept—London’s largest demo day—featuring 100 pre-selected pre-seed to Series A stage founders who pitch to investors. In April 2024, we hosted the first event, attracting 800 attendees (200 of them being investors), with an additional 200 people on the waitlist.I come from a founder background, and everything I do has the interests of founders at the center of it. That’s why my events are different and why I attract so many people. Our first London’s largest demo day was the result of hard work with huge support from the investor and founder communities. The inventor and founder dynamics, as well as the startup ecosystem, are messed up. My personal mission is to change this and do all I can to democratize founders’ access to investments so I can help bring more life-changing businesses to life.I’m also an angel investor, but I only invest in founders I personally know or as part of a syndicate I’m in. Founders, please do not contact me about investments. Instead, go to my website and submit your details so I can share them with my wider investor network.Investors who are looking for access to high-quality deal flow on pre-seed to Series A stage companies, join my investor community where we share deal flow each month. See the details on the website.I receive a lot of requests on LinkedIn and via email, and I do my best to reply to everyone, but it might take time. Before contacting me, check www.rarefounders.com—you might find all your answers there.I enjoy the work I do with the startup and investor community. That’s pretty much my life these days, and I love it. But when I’m not working, I enjoy running, spending time with my dogs, listening to books (I love science fiction and classics), and exploring wellness-related activities (fasting, cold showers, meditation, ayahuasca, etc.).

As part of this job I secured a grant from the UN to run this project, supervised the website, managed and trained the volunteers who assisted me on this project. Additionally I was responsible for the marketing of club's weekly events as well as running these events.
