CSLI is a non profit with a mission of developing wholehearted disciples of Jesus Christ who will articulate, defend, share, and live their faith in personal and public life. CSLI has over twenty offices around the world, with DC being their headquarters. As an intern, I am assigned various tasks.Key contributions include:Donor Relations: Assisted in managing donor communications and engagement strategies to strengthen relationships and support for the institute’s initiatives.Database Development: Supported the development and maintenance of donor and outreach databases, ensuring accurate data management and effective information retrieval.Editorial Work: Contributed to the creation and editing of content for newsletters and publications, collaborating with contributing authors to enhance the quality and impact of written materials.Additional Support: Provided general support across various functions, including event coordination and research, contributing to the institute’s overall operations and objectives.This role offered valuable experience in nonprofit management, communication, and data management, contributing to a deeper understanding of organizational dynamics and donor engagement strategies.. Responsibilities encompassed donor relations, database development, editorial work, all of which provide a comprehensive learning experience in a dynamic environment.

As a participant in The Falls Church Fellows program, I am engaged in a rigorous 9-month leadership and faith development initiative that integrates professional work, theological education, and personal growth. This program is designed for young professionals to grow holistically in their faith, vocation, and community impact. I was the head of an underground leadership and discipline group. I headed a society of 15 people dedicated to influencing their individual spheres of power at my school. My team and I planned 3 social gatherings per semester allowing members to network and communicate. I gave public addresses on various topics like developing discipline and leading well. This leadership group promoted professionalism for both me and the members. I learned the importance of working with a diverse team. I furthered my organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

This endeavor consists in relocating to old pet stores, in places like Brooklyn, New York for the task of reopening a bankrupt pet store location. Through re-establishing clientele, organizing the store, and developing new relationships with distributors, the pet store comes back to life. Locations are still open and grow more and more every year. My specific tasks consisted of speaking to both clients and product distributors, while transferring overordered backstock to sales floor, and organizing basement stock. Finally, I price checked merchandise and checked customers out.

I worked for this student organization for one year at my school. The task was to raise funds for a field office in Ghana that works to rescue children trapped in forced slavery on Lake Volta. I raised money for the field office through fundraising events. I filled out expense reports and organized receipts for purchases related to IJM events. I also informed students on the issue of modern slavery through presentations and conversing, and then showed how they can help by being socially aware in consumption and lifestyle. Lastly, I tracked the organization’s budget for the Fall and Spring Semesters.
