In my various roles, I’ve been charged by bears, robbed by rustlers, and hugged a whale. I’ve worked remotely when remotely meant a helicopter ride to the job site or a day’s drive to the nearest village. Through all these experiences, I’ve found a common thread that I love – and no, it’s not adrenaline…All my past experiences were made better by the team I was a part of. When I think about those moments, it’s the people I was with that make the events richer. The best days are bouncing ideas off friends and colleagues and working together to solve problems and accomplish a goal or bring a new creation into the world.While I’ll cherish my days working “remotely,” I’ve been searching for a new arena to feed my passions and a new team to succeed with. Along a circuitous route, this search led to my first web development project - creating and managing websites highlighting conservation efforts around endangered animals. I loved the creativity, the challenge, the exposure to new ideas, and, yes, the teamwork.Focusing on roles that utilize HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, and Mongoose. I’ve honed my ability to learn quickly, write clean and effective code, and ask for help when I need it (after all, that’s what community learning is all about).Along the way, I’ve also added some Figma skills, Git and GitHub knowledge, familiarity with Agile methodology, and discovered a passion for accessibility in web design.
