As an Engineering Manager, I maintain an overall responsibility for a portfolio of SaaS applications and tools for monitoring and testing website performance. These applications are used by a large number of blue chip and retail businesses around the UK and beyond. Combining line management of two development teams with the scrum master responsibilities, I ensure the best application of Agile principles helps deliver the best software to the customer.I have 25 years of experience at various levels of software and web development, spanning across several industries, including construction, healthcare, government, telecoms and marketing. Having experienced all aspects of the SDLC, from scoping to production support, from hands-on coding to programme management and global strategy, I can quickly and efficiently evaluate the situation and work with the stakeholders to achieve the best results.I can define the strategic direction, evaluate its impact on the current operations and, if necessary, manage the implementation to the fullest.I have managed distributed teams of up to 50 people and get along well with virtually everyone.There is life outside work, of course - and I work to live, not live to work.
