Joining NAKA and stepping into the role of CTO necessitated the culmination and integration of diverse experiences amassed throughout my career. At NAKA, our primary focus revolves around Bridging the Gap Between Blockchain and Traditional Finance. Our comprehensive offering includes integrated payment terminals supported by a robust payment infrastructure under our care. This infrastructure seamlessly blends traditional, digital and crypto payment options into a unified solution.Furthermore, we are actively expanding our footprint in multiple markets with the NAKA payment scheme and the NAKA card, marking the First Non-custodial Payment Card Fully Compatible with Traditional Payment Infrastructure.In my role as the CTO, my responsibilities extend beyond the ordinary, requiring a deep understanding of blockchain technologies, cryptography, IoT, diverse hardware architectures with versatile operating environments, and various architectural approaches—both traditional and event-driven—ensuring a harmonious balance of scalability and flexibility. Additionally, my role involves specialized knowledge in traditional payment standards such as EMV and PCI-DSS, enabling us to seamlessly bridge the gap not only between different technologies but sometimes also between philosophies.

Upon assuming the role of overseeing the development of OCEAN, an EV charge point and energy management software, my responsibilities encompassed the entire software development lifecycle. This included managing aspects ranging from architecture and algorithm design to user interface development, cybersecurity, compliance, and continuous improvement. The focus was on ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of EV charging systems under my care.Apart from serving as the technical lead, I assumed the role of overseeing people management in the software development. This entailed the responsibility of recruiting, nurturing, and retaining a skilled and motivated workforce, all while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and legal regulations.

As a Solutions Architect of OCEAN, an EV charge point and energy management software, at ETREL, a Landys+Gyr company, I had to specialize in power management, designing and integrating efficient, scalable systems. Responsibilities included evaluating and selecting technologies, ensuring compliance with standards, collaborating with stakeholders, and prioritizing scalability and flexibility. As the architect, I focused on security, reliability, and continuous improvement, anticipating future growth and adapting to evolving industry trends.

Since technology is our core business I am also a project manager and leader for the most strategic interdisciplinary projects we might have. As CIO my work was focused on IT governance, managing performance, risks, projects,… I was deeply involved in the development and production of products in our company as a project manager and IT expert on one side and as a member of the strategic board of the company on the other. I came to the company as a student to work between school holidays which soon turned into a full time job in September. Administration of IT network, Windows workstations and Windows NT servers for development and real production environments (mail, file, web and application servers), gateways and CheckPoint firewalls.Moved soon from Windows to Linux servers and clustered environments. Developed and managed active, on-line server clustered environments with active monitoring and alerting services for real production of Najdi.si which was released to the public in october 2000 and grew to the biggest site in Slovenia. Those were the days… :)

I've managed and administrated a mixed network of about 100 workstations. The network was comprised of Novell 4.01 NDS, DOS workstations, Windows NT servers and workstations as well MAC System 9 environment in the design department. At the time when Internet was fairly new I also managed Internet services, gateways and email. One of the main tasks was managing typesetting department and coordination with design since BBT is a publishing house. That year co-workers and myself proudly published 43 books. One of prime responsibilities was managing the production line for Central and Eastern Europe.
