As a Health Care Aide at Covenant Care, I provide compassionate, person-centered care, respecting residents' dignity and needs. I ensure safety, engage residents in meaningful activities, and collaborate with LPNs/RNs, all while upholding high standards of cleanliness and teamwork.

For Microbial Research Group (MRG), under supervision of Dr. Sophie Kerneis-Golsteyn.I conduct weekly experiments using microdilution technique to test the inhibitory effect of different plant extracts on bacteria (including S.aureus, E.coli, and S.enterica). I also prepare plant extracts using nonpolar solvent using a specific protocol. Additionally, I also prepare and compile reports and post them in Sharepoint. I am also working on a literature review on how to prepare plant extracts for Gram negative bacteria such as E.coli.

I provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions for students seeking assistance in BIO 1160: Anatomy and Physiology I, COM 1162: Interpersonal Communication, and PNG 2256: Pathophysiology. I also develop personalized learning plans tailored to individual student needs, focusing on areas of difficulty and implementing strategies for improvement. Additionally, I prepare engaging and interactive learning materials, including practice exercises, study guides, and visual aids, to reinforce key concepts and facilitate comprehension. I also foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment, building rapport with students to instill confidence and motivation in their academic pursuits.

I also assisted clients in reaching personalized goals through health promotion (e.g., teaching personal hygiene, importance of healthy eating, behavioural management techniques, etc.). Additionally, I used a trauma-informed approach in supporting daily living activities (groceries, hygiene, etc.).

I also mentored and assisted training 1-2 volunteers per week to enhance their professional development. I also disseminated 20-30 surveys to participants at the end of every week to acquire feedback and improve program outcomes.

Additionally, I hosted paper conferences where students were provided with in-depth feedback, which led to an increase in grades on their final papers. I graded assignments quickly and efficiently leading to a fast turnaround.

I entered, cleaned, and verified data of general and by-election results quickly and efficiently for fast turnaround (10-20 elections/week). I also conducted archival work and data science tasks (e.g. reviewing code, running statistical analyses, etc.) with election data.

The Communal Lunch Project is a place where post-secondary students across the country connect and learn about good food campus culture and to spread awareness that aims to reduce the "starving student ideology." The project is funded by NSERC, specifically the Community and College Social Innovation Fund. It is in partnership with Meal Exchange, in collaboration with Joshna Maharaj, and supported by George Brown College’s Peerconnect student support program.I hosted weekly virtual lunches and assisted with the planning of and provided feedback on the Communal Lunch Project Social medias and website content. I also received the opportunity to speak with the 5 other Project Assistants at the National Student Food Summit 2020 on a session titled Communal Lunch Project Info Session.
