About Alessandro Colombo
Since 2017, I have worked as a men's tailor at Ermenegildo Zegna's ‘Bespoke’atelier. Here, working ina team alongside my colleagues, I create suits made entirely by hand starting from the pattern andfabric, setting up the canvas on the client's figure.The passion that drives this work leads me to create one-off pieces. Daily, I have the opportunity towork on suits, blazers , trousers, coats, tuxedos and tailcoats, working on very fine and delicatefabrics such as the pure vicuña.During my experience at Giorgio Armani, when special tailoring needs arose, I personally managed theclient, evaluating his figure and the alterations to be carried out.At that time, I also invested in becoming a pattern designer, graduating from the “Carlo Secoli Institute”.This course gave me the opportunity to compare the “modern” logic of prêt-à-porter construction withthe classics technics of my elderly colleagues: in this way we evaluated, tested and verified a rangeof processes, optimizing both the quality and delivery times.I am passionate about sistematic botanics (taxonomic) and I collect rare plants.I am also an expert in salt water acquariums.
