I am founder and managing partner of Vertus, an advisory company operating in the reindustrialisation of production sites, built in ten years of courageous efforts and challenges. My professional career started in KMPG, over 25 years ago, first as an auditor and then as a financial advisor. Those were busy years, where I learned to work under pressure, without losing sight of the details and quality. Vertus was born from Arques Industries AG, a German investment holding dealing with turnaround acquisitions, of which I became General Manager in Italy. When they decided to close the Italian office, I took it over with a partner. We started from scratch. We were convinced that finding someone to take over a production site devoted to closure and bring it back to life was a somewhat reckless mission, but with a special value. It was necessary to have wide competences, strong relational skills and resilience. I had acquired these peculiarities in the family company, Aster, after the experience in KMPG: an international reality that had allowed me to work in different locations around the world. In each country I had to deal with different ways of doing business, I had learned that patience is a virtue to be strengthened, that waiting is never a waste of time, that listening creates empathy and to remain in balance in face of defeats, bearing failures on their shoulders with the same humility as victories.I brought all this professional and human experience into Vertus, together with the conviction that opportunities arise in crises, which preserving is equivalent to looking far away. Over time Vertus has collected important successes, added a new business line dedicated to human resources and offers qualified consultancy on debt & grants corporate finance. I think the path for development is now traced and on it, together with my team, which I thank for sharing this challenging project, I intend to continue with determination and ambition.
