During my 23 years of Academic carrier I have acquired skills in population dynamics, stock assessment and in the biology of the main demersal species. I also acquired a lot of experiences in the field activities both in experimental research and in the monitoring programs about fisheries activities. For several years I carried out the role of scientific coordinator in the preparation of the Yearbook on the State of exploited resources in Italian seas and in the working groups promoted by Italian Biologic Coordination about methods and data acquisition in the Data Collection Framework. I also worked at local administrative level (Regione Liguria) in the preparation of the Management Plan on Aphia minuta GSA9 - fisheries. I have participated in many STECF EWG meetings on Mediterranean and Black Sea assessment and I was involved in many EU (especially in the framework of the Joint Consortium created for the objectives of tenders MARE/2009/05 - LOT 1 -MAREA (Mediterranean hAlieutic Resources Evaluation and Advice) and Italian ministries funded research projects and I was the author/co-author of numerous scientific publications.Currently I’m working at the EU Joint Research Centre in providing of scientific support to the implementation of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), particularly in the areas of quantitative data analysis, stock assessment and fisheries management strategy evaluation. Support to the Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF) forwhich the JRC constitutes the secretariat, and the Data Collection Framework (DCF), with emphasis on fisheries management and conservation approaches in particular in the Mediterranean Sea. Finally, I’m responsible ofthe EU Mediterranean and Black Sea Data Call.
