In October 2014 I joined the "Wind Energy Research Group"​ at the Electrical Drives department of the Technical University of Berlin for working on my master's thesis titled "​ Modelling and Control of Doubly Fed Induction Generators for Wind Power Applications"​. As shown in the attached evaluation letter, during this time I worked on several topics: - Research on the actual development of Wind Energy Conversion Systems (WECS);- Investigations on Doubly Fed Induction Generatos (DFIG) based WECS;- Implementation and simulation of a vector control scheme for the grid side converter;- Implementation and simulation of a direct torque and direct power control for the rotor side converter of a DFIG;- Investigations on grid synchronization of a DFIG;- Simulation and comparison of the generated layouts based on Matlab;- Measuring the machine characteristics.During this time I also collaborated at the publication titled "Performance Improvement of Direct Torque Control for Doubly Fed Induction Generators with 12 Sector Methodology".The efforts paid off following a great evaluation by the thesis supervisors (in the evaluation letter).

I spent five months at the CePTIT research centre, which bases several research activities on the development of electrical drives. There I worked on the analytical calculations and FEM-based design optimization of induction machines. Then, using these principles I designed an induction motor with a rated power of 4 kW on which I based my bachelor's dissertation. I became familiar with software such as FEMM and MATLAB.
