My First experience in the Wind Tunnel of the Politecnico di Milano while the Aerospace Department of Engineering was involved in the EU 5th-Framework project "3AS - Active Aeroelastic Aircraft Structures". This project aimed at the development and evaluation of design concepts to improve aircraft efficiency at all flight and payload conditions, through exploitation of airframe aeroelastic deformations.Politecnico di Milano took part in the project by carrying out Wind Tunnel Tests on X-DIA aeroservoelastic demonstrator. Activity has focused on the identification of experimental demonstrator in complete configuration, using a free-free suspension system. On it was proved the applicability of an active control system for the damping of fuselage vibrations by the all movable foreplane surfaces.
