The focus is on 0-18-year-old children and adolescents and their families, with requests for diagnostic intervention, care, and rehabilitation of various kinds that concern neuropsychological problems of different etiologies: genetic, organic, relational, and social. It is recognized as a leading cancer center in Italy.The research activities of the Epidemiology and Prevention Department include prospective studies, cross-sectional studies (surveys), and pilot intervention studies on cancer risk factors.The Department of Pneumology carries out in and outpatient diagnostic-therapeutic activities. It conducts clinical research on topics such as the pharmacogenetics of anti-smoking therapies and it promotes behavioral counseling about smoking cessation at the Tobacco Control Unit.
