A versatile Fashion Designer with native Italian and Spanish linguistic competence, I am pursuing at the same time a fulfilling career path as a Community Interpreter. Having accomplished the CI’s Certificate Level 3 Qualification, recognised by the public sector and voluntary organisations, I am working as a Freelancer for social enterprises, charities and government contractors (such as MSVCC), providing consecutive face-to-face, telephone and video interpreting. The aim is to overcome linguistic barriers for vulnerable adults and children in everyday situations, and to access education, health services, housing, and other public services, without assuming the role of advocate.In addition, as a Senior Fashion Designer with 20+ years in the fashion industry, creatively I have drawn up stylish collections, infusing brand aesthetics into contemporary codes, for international premium companies primarily in Italy and the USA (NYC). Reporting directly to the Artistic Director, such as Gianfranco Ferré, Lars Nilsson, Antonio Berardi and Vivienne Tam, I attained thoroughly high-end and distinguished collections, showcased on the catwalks of Milan and New York Fashion Week Shows. I fine-tuned from concept to sealing, conveying the brand lexicon’s elements with pioneering materials and methods, intersecting with high-end tailoring techniques. Led by an innovative approach, I researched overarching trends and inspirations, translated concepts into designs and developments, leading and coordinating the entire execution process. Diligently managing deadlines and workflow, I refined with meticulous attention and style sense, contemporary collections that embodied a touch of modishness and inventiveness.Upon completion of the Master in Web-Fashion Business at IED in Milan, I drew up the e-project “rEdone”, a business concept that focuses on the value of sustainability. The aim is to reuse old clothes as a resource, regenerated in a new “circular economy”. Pre-owned and pre-loved garments are reclaimed, reconditioned and re-elaborated into new creations, such as stylish and unique pieces of upcycled fashion which challenge fashion components to be re-evaluated. It reaffirms the beauty of the “WABI” not-flawless and the worth of the “SABI”, the “impermanence'' essence of the existing. As a connoisseur of Japan’s culture, by affinity, I approach my designs by incorporating Japanese aesthetics codes, morphed into the style and sensory perception of textiles, combined with cutting edge materials and techniques, so as to refine a “naturalistic modern” elegance.
