I have been teaching two compulsory courses, Macroeconomics (around 150 first-year students per year) and International Economics (around 50 postgrad students per year) since 2006. I supervise students' dissertations. I am senior researcher for the international research project "The challenge of globalization: Technology driven foreign direct investment (TFDI) and its implications for the negotiation of International (bi and multilateral) Investment Agreements", coordinated by prof. Cristina Chaminade, Lund University (Budget: 988.162 euros, 2011-2015). Participants: Lund University (Sweden), Università di Pavia (Italy), ISI-Fraunhofer (Germany), International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (India), Chinese Academy of Sciences (China). The project involves partners from Europe and Asia with an extensive network in Latin America (Brazil) and Africa (South Africa) to analyze the determinants of TFDI in order to inform policy makers negotiating international investment agreements.

Head of geo-economic research activities on Asia with a special focus on China, and on Europe-Asia economic relations.

I was part of the team in the Division on Globalization and Development Strategies in charge of designing and drafting the Trade and Development Report, one of the flagship publications of UNCTAD. I mainly worked on the general economic conditions of Asian economies, as well as on the policy suggestions for development. Besides the applied research work, I also contributed to the economic report writing of High Level meetings. My achievements during those years include, primarily, the ability to work in a multicultural team, the improvement of my drafting skills, and the sensibility to the dissemination of the results of economic research as well as policy implications to a non-technical audience.
