I always believed that there is a reason behind everything around us and that all can be explained. Once you know why something happens you also know how to solve it. I therefore decided to study psychology in order to be able to understand the world and solve the issues. I did not understand the world, but I kept with me the idea that if you want to solve something you have to try to understand it first. This idea was a great help when I started to work as customer service representative for almost 1 year and as international credit controller for more than 6 years. I learned on field all about credit collection, asking colleagues and studying procedures. Thanks to my strong belief in cause-effects, I was able to reduce debts and DSO to a minimum per month, to establish and maintain great customer relationships, to ensure that issues and queries were dealt promptly and professionally; I never stopped in front of an apparently unsolvable problem, always going deeper until I could find the reason of the issues we were facing, obtaining in this way remarkable results. As I loved my own country (Italy) I also started to teach Italian language and culture during evening classes to adults, meeting a lot of interesting people and sharing my passion with them, developing a good learning environment. When teaching a group of students, the most difficult part of your job is to identify and meet everyone’s needs, understanding why they are not performing at their best. In order to do so, you need to study constantly new methodologies and be very passionate about it, always going deeper. This is why I decided to take the certification DITALS II at the University of Siena (Italy) to teach Italian as a second language. During the study we focused on methodology and didactics, so I could combine passion to knowledge.
