My passion and efforts have been focused on chemistry for several years. I enjoyed studying at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, building solid foundation to my knowledge: there I obtained my bachelor degree in Industrial Chemistry (2008) and a master degree in chemistry (2010), with a research thesis in green organic and industrial chemistry themed on the transformation of biobased chemicals. Successively, I continued working on the “biobased chemicals” topic, thanks to a PhD scholarship from the Italian Ministry of University and Research and an Endeavour Awards scholarship from the Australian Government, and finally obtaining the PhD in 2015.Progressively, I shifted towards chemistry of polymeric materials: first through an internship in a multinational packaging company (SIPA, 2011), and then in an innovative start-up (HELIV group, 2015-2016) where I could rapidly grow my expertise. Since 2016 I have been employed by INSTM as a researcher, for developing projects on renewable polymers and resins in collaboration with some companies (Novaresine, Toscana Gomma).I believe to have the following strengths: passion in my work, cleverness, and commitment to the common objectives and the common cause in general.Visit my personal web-site: http://alessiocaretto.altervista.org.

R&D EmployeeHeliv Group Srl Feb 2015 - Jun 2016Venezia, ItaliaI became responsible of the R&D, which was focused on the preparation of luminescent inks and their applications. Some of the main research topics were: choice, total synthesis or synthetic modification of the dyes and their characterisation and test (brightness, thermal stability, UV stability); blending of the dyes; formulation of the inks by choosing and testing their matrices and additives. While working for HELIV I gave an important contribution to its advancement, e.g. by realising improved pigments and by increasing the stability of the inks formulation. The technology was patented.
