My responsibility are to control the clubs money and to monitor the budget and maintain accurate financial records. Our mission was to provide support & guidance for students who are interested in nursing & wish to apply to the CSUEB Nursing Program. We host a variety of events & workshops including informational sessions about CSUEB Nursing Program, TEAS exam preparation workshops, nursing prerequisites study sessions, and volunteer hour opportunities. Collaborated with the sister organization, The East Bay Student Nurses Association to provide high school and college students with information regarding their educational opportunities in nursing as career with the breakthrough to Nursing event. I promoted and partook in creating event alongside EBSNA officers.

As an intern I was educated about the prevention and management of health issues disproportionately affecting marginalized communities. As a mentor I advised and supported my mentee development, planned life goals and provided guidance. Lastly, I worked on a research project with The Greenlining Institute on a policy brief about the intersections of racial equity and burden of medical debt on low income families of color within Alameda County during COVID-19.

As a mentor I was paired with two 6 grades as my mentees. My purpose was to promote behavioral, academic, and community engagement skills. We expanded our self awareness and capacity for empathy and kindness. I provided my support, advice and guidance. As well as focusing on mentees development and planning life goals.

The internship allowed me to explore opportunities in the healthcare field were I gained exposure to health careers through hands-on experiences such as shadowing doctors, nurse, and other clinicians; skills workshop;seminars and networking. I was introduced to broad spectrum of health careers and learn about the education and training requirements to pursue my career goals.
