Alejandra G. Verdugo Email and Phone Number
In the Summer of 2023, I made the decision of changing career paths from my calling as a journalist in Mexico City to immersing myself in the medical interpreting field in the United States. As a dedicated lifelong learner, I began my training with a 100 hour Core Medical Interpreter Course by the National Institute for Coordinated Healthcare which I successfully completed. My goal is to enhance cultural understanding and empathy across diverse cultures while ensuring effective communication to the Limited English Proficiency community, merging my critical thinking, adaptability, and strong ethical foundations skills to my new endeavors. My passion for empathizing with diverse cultures was propelled by my participation in a U.S. cultural exchange program that significantly improved my English language skills and fostered a strong sense of self-awareness, confidence, and problem-solving abilities.Holding a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, I take pride in my multifaceted professional background. I am a proactive, sociable individual committed to assisting others, even with their simplest queries. My previous experiences have sharpened my research and listening skills, underpinned by a strong sense of integrity. I am a highly responsible and organized professional with keen analytical abilities.I grew up in Tijuana, a place with a mix of cultures in Northwest Mexico, and then lived in Mexico City for six years. My interests include reading, traveling, enjoying the outdoors, and looking for new experiences. Chances are, as you read this, I might be listening to Shakira.
