  • Chewy
Associate Director, Talent Acquistion Marketing & Sourcing
    Chewy Dec 2021 - Nov 2023
    Plantation, Florida, Us
I was laid off in November 2023 and am and looking for the next big adventure (open to consulting, FTE, or project/contract). Please email andrew@deanandbug.com or connect/message me here.At Chewy, I began my work as an external consultant focusing on solving one of Chewy‘s biggest problems — low staffing rates at warehouse and fulfillment centers. I evaluated the company’s approach to attracting hourly workers and implemented a new recruitment marketing strategy. Chewy was only able to fill single digit percentages of the labor orders for warehouse staff required to fulfill product to customers. The low staffing rates were regularly referenced on earnings calls by executives and investors as an existential threat to Chewy. I centralize recruitment marketing efforts to build consistency, better analytics, ROI tracking, and line of sight into budget. Within two years as a consultant, and then full-time employee with a project manager and CRM strategist, the new approach yielded enough application funnel get to 100% full rates for warehouse workers across all locations. Through the centralization efforts and careful optimizations, we cut top of funnel marketing spend from $13m+ to under $8m and drove down cost application from $100+ to the teens at most locations.

  • Uber
Head Of Global Careers Brand & Employer Marketing
    Uber Nov 2015 - Dec 2017
    San Francisco, California, Us
I manage the strategy and team that focuses on the global careers brand and employer marketing channels at Uber. What exactly does that mean? Think of my team's work as falling into two categories: 1) The brand of Uber as an employer in the global marketplace for talent and2) Growth of the companyThe brand side of my work focuses on the definition, measurement, and continuous adjustment of Uber's employee value proposition (EVP) globally. My team also helps lead the merchandizing efforts of the EVP/employer brand at each point of the candidate and employee lifecycle from awareness of the company to exit. On the growth side, I am responsible for the recruitment funnel at Uber. I build, execute, and optimize the strategy for recruitment advertising/marketing/communications/events/email/CRM activities globally via "always on" and custom campaigns to meet the company's insatiable demand for talent. In 6 quarters, my team's effort has been indispensable in growing Uber from 5,000 to almost 15,000 employees in cities across the world.Overall: smart brand marketing + ads + CRM + silly amounts of data = happy candidates, happy clients, happy hires, happy company.
