Being part of the amazing Salish Sea Initiative (SSI) team is a fantastic experience. We are working towards building an interactive map (SSIM) to provide data sovereignty for the 33 individual indigenous communities in our program. My main task includes processing data and creating beautiful visual layers for the map while displaying it with an informational panel, that not only informs, but guides the user in interpreting the data displayed.
