Shelf Awareness is an industry-leading digital publication that covers the publishing business for independent booksellers and readers. I have functioned as the company's Art Director since its inception in 2005, with the following responsibilities: • Create and manage the identity systems for Shelf Awareness, Maximum Shelf, Shelf for Readers and associated online products.• Establish guidelines for the use of Shelf Awareness visual assets.• Create the iconic custom illustrated headers for Shelf Awareness special issues, totaling more than 500 as of this date.• Interface with third parties to create customized digital advertising solutions.• Prototype new designs for websites and digital media products.• Ideate, design and oversee production of business to business and public-facing marking collateral for the Shelf Awareness brands.• Troubleshoot advertising assets from outside parties.• Create engaging animated e-blasts and advertising assets for Shelf Awareness and its advertising partners.

In my role as Design Director, I am responsible for the visual execution of all of our communications, including animated and static ads, Facebook and mobile placements, e-blasts and print materials.

Yuen Lui Studio is the Northwest's leading photography company, offering services for student, family, school and corporate clients. As a design consultant to the company, I created large bodies of work in two critical areas: Large-scale scenic backgrounds used in both studio and on-site photo shoots and graphic design used in advertising and print collateral. My scenic work comprised both 4' x 8' panels and 9' x 12' canvases that I designed, scaled up and painted in my studio. Graphic design services were aimed at regional marketing and point of purchase marketing efforts. In each role, I reported directly to ownership, Marketing, School Photography and Studio Photography Directors.
