Research project using Machine Learning to develop a probabilistic early warning system for triage in accident and emergency departments. Given demographic variables, clinical observations and a free text description of the presenting patient, the project aims to predict the likelihood of admission, required tests and possible diagnoses - particularly hard to detect, time-critical pathologies such as sepsis. Collaboration with the Alan Turing Institute, and the Barking, Havering, and Redbridge NHS Trust.

Teaching assistant for a Masters level computer science course in data mining teaching topics such as decision trees, support vector machines, neural networks, ensemble methods, natural language processing etc.Additional responsibilities involved creating mark schemes for, and both written and oral assessment of two in depth pieces of coursework implemented in R.

Teaching weekly seminars in Quantitative Analysis for Management 1&2 to first year undergraduate students.These modules cover basic statistical concepts such as hypothesis testing, linear regression, time-series analysis, and linear programming.

Working in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, and other policy makers.Developed a mathematical model and data analysis tool to forecast and cost drug demand for the global programme to eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis under differing treatment scenarios.This work contributed towards a recent guideline review published by WHO.
