Purchasing Executive in a foreign owned Electronics Manufacturing Service company Bavarian Technology Systems. The company’s line of business is contracting of electronic assembly work to manufacture PCBAs and electro-mechanical assemblies according the customers specification. One of my roles in the company is business development with new customers & for new projects. This part of my jobs primarily calls for a technical analysis of the data supplied in the RFQ & liaising with our production personnel such as to formulate a profitable offer. My main function within this organisation is the co-ordination, overseeing and problem solving of logistic operation. In a nutshell this covers preparing of quotations for customers, issuing of purchase orders for the materials required to suppliers, co-ordination with the production department for the delivery of products according to customer schedules and organising of the delivery shipments to customers.

Buyer in the purchasing department of one of the leading electronics PCBA products manufactures on the island, namely MSC Malta. Handling the purchasing of all the electronic components such as; through hole, surface mount, bare boards and hardware required to deliver the products our customer’s specific orders. Our customer portfolio and product mix vary widely, namely automotive, medical, consumer electronic equipment, etc... Working within this ISO 9001-2000 certified company, gave me the opportunity to continuously refine my negotiation and interaction skills with a wide spectrum of suppliers and commodities together with ensuring a timely delivery of good always against the project budgeted targets.

In the summer of 2003 in applied for and successfully moved with-in Methode Electronics Malta Ltd, to the post of sourcing project co-ordinator. This job entailed the research and sourcing of the appropriate suppliers for the commodities required for the development of a project and launch into full production. In further detail suppliers for both currently existing and new commodities to the company would have been selected against requirements such as target prices, tooling lead times, tooling costs, quality certification etc. Once the information required would have been gathered, a feasibility study is complied to identify the supplier who best covers all the project and production requirements. Following this stage a samples are ordered against the quoted for component drawing. The samples are released by the quality department and a production contract is lunched to the chosen supplier.

Quality Technician, from September 2000 with Methode Electronics Malta Ltd, an ISO TS 16949 certified company which designs, manufactures and assemblies, on a JIT basis, all its products. Working within the quality assurance team, my duties were the measurements of components according to the design drawings specifications. Compiling of measurements reports to reflect the findings. Coordinating any corrections required together with the design department and issuing of reject report to our overseas suppliers. The compilation of customer quality documentation to ISO TS 16949 requirements for the submission of both prototype and production samples also fell within my range of duties.

Employed with Main Services Ltd as part of sales team. This is one of the major agencies of both industrial and marine equipment, such as air compressors, forklifts, air-conditioners, marine engines, etc. as Technical Support Executive. My main duties within the company entailed the compiling, administration and chasing of quotations and tenders to clients for any of the equipment within the company’s range of products. Each of the quotations would always be followed up and sustained by myself with any technical recommendations or further details each client would have required.

Working in a plastic injection moulding industry, namely ; Toly Products Ltd, as part of the development team. My work consists in trouble-shooting and shake down of customer quality complaints, by measuring , combining plastic components and following up any necessary repair work on the moulds to the production stage. Solving mould or plastic component related problems during production, as well as ensuring the factory’s quality standard of any new moulds coming from overseas.
