Projects I worked on included Lagos Theatre Festival, the first ever outdoor theatre event in Nigeria which involved working with a local team to produce a three day event that saw a theatre director from the United Kingdom collaborate with a local producer alongside other plays inspired by the city. We also undertook several projects that forged new collaborations between the Nigerian and British creative industries; both vibrant sectors that have much to learn from each other. In music we undertook a production workshop with British producers and musicians from Nigeria and the UK that culminated in a live performance at local music night ‘Afropolitan Vibes’ and the first ever screening of British opera at a cinema in Nigeria. We hosted several British artists and institutions including the British Library and the BBC over the period in a series of exchanges designed to increase collaborations between the UK and Nigeria.
