Alex has acquired a wide, in-depth knowledge and experience, as a 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) Draughtsman in precision tool making, spanning a period of some 30 years with an international company, Rydal Precision Tools Ltd. Alex is proficient with AutoCAD (22 years experience) up to release 2009, SolidWorks Professional 2014 x64 Edition, and Dassault Systemes DraftSight. Alex also has an in depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Primarily working to customer’s requirements involving direct liaison, examining design specifications and calculating dimensions of components using the computerized system and working out most effective and economical means of manufacture and check design safety. This has involved totally designing tools from scratch or working on and improving existing designs.Some of the more noticeable clients that Alex has designed and supplied precision tooling for are; Rolls Royce Motor Cars Limited, 3M Plc, BBC, British Aerospace, Chubb Security, Dexion Limited, Ford Motor Company, Ministry of Defence, Thames Television, Thorn Lighting, Williams Grand Prix.Alex is a practical problem solver, with a logical, inventive, enquiring mind; applies excellent communication and interpersonal skills when liaising with other engineers and customers; is highly self-motivated and works well both as part of a team, or on own initiative.Alex has also used his CAD experience in the voluntary sector creating 3D renderings of a Victorian bear pit, which helped this rare structure gain Grade 2 Listed building status. Also created a scaled 2D plan of Northfleet Harbour. Which is being used by the Charity as part of their master planning and promotion.
