Windsor

Organized the venue requirements for the Windsor Essex Great Lakes Regional. This involved coordinating with electricians, maintenance, event planners, multimedia contractors, facility managers. This was the first annual FIRST Robotics regional to be hosted at the University of Windsor. Many challenges were faced being the first event, but a road map was put together for future events. Event brought 40 teams from Canada and USA together, approximately 1100 students, and 1500 spectators daily.

Started in Fall 2012, the goal was to create a group of students interested in assisting with the growth of FIRST Robotics within the Windsor-Essex community. When the growth in the first year was from one high school to four, and this year there will be 13 teams. uwinFIRST creates educational programs, as well as mentoring for the high schools participating in Windsor-Essex county.

- Involved in creating and writing image processing algorithms, as well as 3D point cloud processing for object, red light, stop sign, and terrain detection.- Designed microcontroller hardware for running a high intensity head light system, infrared laser range detection system, as well as motor control, and power distribution.- Assisted in designing a wireless remote safety system that can remotely kill power or send a signal for the car to start a deceleration procedure from up to 500 meters.
