    Worked as an exploration geologist across the West and East Pilbara at Fortescue Metals Group (FMG), exploring for iron ore (BID, DID, CID) across 17 individual projects. I worked on three different RC rigs, MAK4, MAK7 and MAK8, the latter being famously known to have the fastest rig team with the most drilled metres/annum of any FMG exploration rig. I was involved in a wide range of projects that spanned from greenfield first pass exploration (Atalanta North), hydrogeological testing for borehole insertion (Raffles), through to brownfield resource definition drilling projects (on 25x50m grid spacing at Variability). The 17 projects I actively contributed to include Hardy’s Ridge, Mindy South, Helga, Spring Creek, Cobra West, Lora South, Variability, Echo Hill, Raffles J6 Central, Turner BID, Radio Hill, Atalanta, Wyloo South, Wyloo North, Atalanta North and Raffles Extension (drill programme Phases I and II). Role duties include:- RC drill rig supervision (responsible person for calling end-of-holes, rig move logistics and maintaining rig safety)- RC chip logging, sampling and maintaining QAQC- Drawing 2D to-scale on-the-rig cross sections to plan end-of-hole depths and locate ore mineralisation.- Detailed geological interpretation of geochemical assay data and drillhole planning- 3D geological modelling (Leapfrog) to plan and analyse drillhole data and interpret structural geology. - Geological reporting including, writing up project reports, handovers, nightly updates etc.- Driving 4WD vehicles to and from drill sites/ vehicle maintenance/safety.- Analysis of assay results to distinguish stratigraphic units based on differing geochemistry, and economic potential of iron ore. - Using downhole reflex tools to collect and interpret AMAG, HSVR and gamma data, which is used to confirm stratigraphy, identify potential CID-hosting paleochannels and mineralised Banded Iron Formation (BIFs), as well as plan drillholes.

    Performed short-term contracts as an exploration geologist for Godolphin Exploration involving early stage prospecting work for Sn-Cu in Cornwall. Tasks include: 1. Drilling to the B/C soil horizon interface for geochemical soil sampling. I personally drilled over 360 sample holes to depths ranging from 0.5 - 1.6 m using a cordless Makita auger drill. Helped with navigation to sample drilling locations using GPS and maps.2. Preparation and packaging of soil samples. This included heating (using a soil oven), crushing and sieving (to 2mm, 1mm and 0.5 mm fractions) the soil samples before weighing them for laboratory analysis (wet chemistry and XRF). I personally crushed and sieved over 400 soil samples for laboratory analysis. Was also responsible for ensuring appropriate QA/QC practices were carried out throughout and assisted in geochemical data analysis from geochemical laboratory datasets.3. GIS data collection and management of geospatial data on MapInfo and Excel databases. Analysed geochemical soil sample results from the lab for the purpose of identifying and further targeting Sn-Cu anomalies.4. Communicating with landowners regarding mineral rights (attaining social license to operate) and maintaining professional and positive relations with local communities surrounding the exploration areas of interest.
