I have worked as an arts administrator professionally since 2010 with two Canadian orchestras. I started in an interim position with the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony before becoming the groups Librarian. After that I became the assistant librarian at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. At the first I was a library staff of 1 and in Vancouver I joined a team of 2 full time librarians and several part time staff. The library of a professional orchestra sits in between the administration and the musicians and falls into one of those two categories depending on the orchestra. In both instances, I was technically under the administration umbrella.

I was involved in the team that designed a new video suite at our main venue and when there is a video aspect to our performance I prepare the scores and direct the camera crew. A part of my role at the VSO has been the introduction the Arts Vision for company wide implementation. Arts Vision is planning and database software used by many orchestras.After a Covid season with the role of Video Director and Associate Producer, I expect to continue to be involved in the video and digital efforts at the VSO.

During this time I prepared scores, directed cameras and helped produce content for approximately 100 recording sessions. These sessions were part of a very ambitious audio/video plan for the season that would normally have only been live performances. We released over 40 edited video concerts with lots of extra material to be released later. These performances are available on theconcerthall.ca our subscription service created just for this remarkable season.
