About Alex Comrie
Over the last 17 years as a landscape architect I have been fortunate to design and project lead a number of exciting and influential projects with Barton Willmore, Whitelaw Turkington and Grontmij Landscape. This experience has given me an opportunity to work with a range of talented professionals and clients, producing inspiring designs which exceed the project brief. During my career I have managed a number of landscape teams over a range of different projects, each having different requirements, constraints and goals. During this process I have been able to apply my skills in designing and detailing schemes, creating and building external spaces which people love and use. I am passionate about the use of quality, enduring materials, supported by robust suitable detailing. I champion innovation and where ever possible try to explore new ways of bettering the status quo. I strive for design excellence and have a holistic approach to design encouraging the use of art within the public realm. I have recently worked on a whole range of public realm, residential and educational schemes each requiring me to tailor my approach to ensure the projects are designed and managed to their full potential. My diverse portfolio of projects encompass a range of different sectors, varying in value from £15k to £65million.
