This role is a mixture of both overseeing the development work to maintain our production sites and to be involved in the estimation and planning of new project work. My day to day work involves having a daily stand up to discuss the customer maintenance priorities with the 1st line support lead and the Operations manager. Once the priorities have been discussed to discuss the work with my team and make sure they are aware of the work that is required. To review merge requests to make sure the meet the standards that myself and fellow tech leads have decided upon. I also am responsible for the builds of the sites and the deployment of the changes.I am the main development contact for our 1st line support team when any priority 1 or 2 issues arise on our sites and am heavily involved in solving the critical issue. Additionally, I regularly discuss with our project managers about the projects I am overseeing and making sure that we meet our time lines and along with the other tech leads and our CTO arranging our development resources over the projects and moving them around where required.

My current role has expanded to be project lead on one of the projects within Semantico. I am in charge of making sure the project is on time and feature complete, along with estimating the work that will be required to be done. I am in change of auditing the source control changes which go into this project. My main day to day tasks involve enhancing the product and helping to solve any issues that may arise with the product in the wild.The skills that I use from day to day are, Java with both the spring and tapestry frame works, Javascript and HTML. We also utilise puppet for the deployments and most servers are running linux which I am occasionally called upon to use in order to debug problems with the live servers.

I work as a J2EE web developer, which covers all aspects of web programming. Also within the mature product I both fix bugs and work on new enhancements for the system.
