In a team of 12 multidisciplinary students we have designed and constructed a working prototype of a quadrupedal robot. The robot is capable of employing different gaits such as pronking, trotting, a static gait and a dynamic diagonal gait. I was responsible for the design and implementation of the locomotion controller.

Research on the feasibility of legged robots for space exploration was done at the robotic facilities at ESA’s ESTEC technical center in the Netherlands. The primary goal was to test Spacebok’s active flight control behavior in simulated low and microgravity environments. To that end, the robot was mounted on a free-floating platform to reproduce zero-G conditions in two dimensions.
