Hello! Firstly, thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I realize that time is an incredibly valuable and ever decreasing commodity, so I greatly and genuinely appreciate you spending it here learning more about me. That being said, I won't waste any of yours.My name is Alex DiMascio, and I love working on interesting and complicated machines and systems. I spent my undergraduate time pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Physics with a minor in Creative Writing and playing on my university's baseball team. I learned what it means to be part of a whole and to dedicate oneself to a greater picture. I learned how to lead and also how to work with those around me. Most importantly, I learned how to be incredibly persistent. If I don't know something or I am not good at something, giving up or feeling bad for myself simply doesn't exist as options to me. I have an innate desire to learn and a considerable passion for what I do. I used my two years of graduate school at UCI accomplishing a Master's degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. This gave me the knowledge and tools to truly achieve what I want to do in life: design cool things. I love to look at complicated mechanical systems and break down how it works. I love to take ideas and concepts and transform them into designs. And I love to be hands on about what I'm designing. If I get the chance to actually build something I jump on it.I have spent the last four years helping Howard Royster to design, fabricate, and assemble a 15-foot telescope with a 6-foot mirror. I have been using SolidWorks to design the tube, the wheel basin, and help with the redesign of the mirror mount. I also spend my time working on other designs, such as walking machines.I have an innate drive for learning and success, an intense desire to learn, and an incredible passion for what I do.I am currently available for hire and open to considering all mechanical, aerospace, and design engineering related full time opportunities.
