I take pride in communicating weather information to everyone and earning their trust, from the top media and officials to the general public , and do not shy away from those that consider weather information dubious at best. Especially during severe weather, I maintain a calm demeanor and quiet confidence, and understand the value of keeping a positive attitude. I believe awareness of not just the weather but the people around us is key to putting out the best forecast and decision support information. Utilizing everyone's strengths and helping support each other as a team is key to keeping those we serve well-informed and safe. In an era when our agency is focused on evolving to create a more ‘Weather Ready Nation’ by better serving our core partners, I have had extensive experience working in environments that emulate the goals in that evolution. I look forward to opportunities to support and lead teams in ways that improve our relationships & communication with our core partners, in order to make our region and local communities better prepared, and more resilient during and after hazardous weather. No matter where I have worked, I have quickly developed sharp instincts for local & regional pattern recognition, allowing me to make excellent forecast & warning decisions with the right balance of confidence and humility. I want to share the wisdom & leadership skills I have attained thus far over my career. I always aim to lift up those around me, by creating a positive, encouraging and respectful environment that empowers and motivates people to bring out the best in each other.
