Over my career I have developed extensive experience and knowledge in the area of viral immunology. Having completed my PhD in Cancer Immunology I worked as a postdoctoral research fellow for several years assessing tumour immune responses, this led me to an interest in viral associated cancers and ultimately viral immune responses. I moved to my current post leading on an MRC programme grant investigating herpesvirus immunity prior to the pandemic. Within this post I was promoted to senior postdoctoral research fellow.During the pandemic, I was able to translate my extensive laboratory expertise and knowledge to lead world leading research, mainly focusing on the paediatric immune response, resulting in several high impact publications characterising the immune response. In addition, I also contributed to several others from the wider group. Besides publication I have disseminated my research through presentations at meetings and workshops, and posters at the BSI congress. Notably I have presented my research to both the UK-CIC and WHO Solidarity II working group on several occasions.
