4 week elective placement in Rockhampton Base Hospital, a rural hospital associated with the University of Queensland. Trusted to carry out placement of arterial lines and central venous catheters under supervision in ICU. Assisted in multiple surgical procedures including laparoscopic abdominal surgeries, thyroidectomy and high anterior resection.

5 week selected placement in the Anaesthetic department of Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow. Trusted under supervision to carry out advanced airway management skills such as intubation. Clinical skills gained included cannulation, airway management, oxygen delivery, and preparation and administration of anaesthetic agents.

Summer spent working at an elite American summer camp as a lifeguard and paddle instructor. Worked with and cared for children aged 5-15 years old at a traditional overnight summer camp in the Adirondacks of New York State. Elected as a Team Assistant to run the camp during team week at the end of the summer.

Front of house experience in one of Glasgow’slargest restaurants. A challenging job which allowed me to become accustomed to long hours, as well as developing my teamwork, time management and communication skills

Gained important skills such as basic first aid and resuscitation.
