Head of the Section for domestic policy, environment/climate, and property management. I was responsible for monitoring, reporting and public diplomacy in the mentioned areas on frequent basis for each of the thematic areas. I served as contact person/focal point for the Swedish Latin America and Caribbean regional development strategy, a role in which I contribute with knowledge of the political context in Brazil. I connected multilateral agencies with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, to explore synergies within the area of Corporate Social Responsibility with the more than 200 Swedish companies active in Brazil. I represented the embassy in four EU delegation workgroups in the Section’s areas of responsibility. I was the chairman of an informal working group in the field of human rights, which is made up of representatives from like-minded embassies, a capacity in which I have led the organization of dialogue events connected to AI and human rights, Gender Based Violence, Women’s economic empowerment and other areas, with audiences up to 300 participants. I was also responsible for the embassy property management, including contacts with the National Property Board. Another of my coordination responsibilities, is for the Real Estate Group/Green Group (the embassy's working group for sustainability) that under 2023 implemented projects of an estimated value of 500,000.00 USD, making the embassy more energy efficient and creating workshops for employees to create a greater awareness of circular economy and recycling.

I was responsible for contribution management within Human Rights, Democracy, and the Rule of Law. I worked from the thematic perspectives human rights, peace, and conflict, with initiatives linked to civil society support via NGOs, core support to research institutions and program support for international organizations within the UN system. I was responsible for a +20m USD contribution portfolio. My responsibilities included information retrieval and internal reporting in digital rights. I was part of a team in charge of the operationalization of the Swedish government’s development cooperation strategy for Cambodia and was the penholder for the yearly strategy reporting. I coordinated the Section Office’s work in creating a Strategic Communication Plan for internal and external communication. Additionally, I headed the IT workgroup in the Embassy’s transition from embassy to a section office under the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok. This position was financed through the International Bilateral Associate Program of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

I was part of the Project management team responsible for a 10m USD contribution funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, aimed at building research capacity in Cambodia. My main responsibility was the coordination of a team of program implementors. I contributed to improving financial processes. I was tasked with improving the quality of the financial annual reports. I monitored the implementation to improve the internal audit. I lead the work on risk assessments and mitigation and contingency plans. I assisted the program coordinators in curriculum development, together with Swedish partner universities. I introduced innovative digital tools for internal and external communication. This was a seconded position through the International Bilateral Associate Program of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

I served as Liaison officer/Point of Contact to local government institutions and administered military and political visits from Brazil, affiliated to the attaché office, in connection with High-level meetings, military training etc. I also organized events, e.g., ceremonies, and celebrations, for up to 200 attendees. Other responsibilities included drafting correspondence (e.g., notes verbales) to other diplomatic entities, both foreign and local, conducted translation of documents Portuguese/Swedish or English and vice versa. I was responsible for interpretation at high-level meetings between armed forces and ministries. Administrative duties included archiving, email correspondence, agenda keeping, office maintenance, etc.

I prepared and provided lessons in Swedish for classes of up to 30 students with foreign backgrounds and acted as a support for students in need of career advice. I participated in, and conducted, workgroups targeting social integration for refugees and heavily promoted cultural and social education, in order to equip newly immigrated students with necessary social skills for local social inclusion.

I managed contributions related to the Swedish support to Mozambican civil society organizations and represented the Embassy as Programme Officer at workshops and seminars organized by International Organizations such as UN Women, UNICEF, UNEP, UNDP etc. I handled the Embassy´s participation in the organization of a major “Tech Camp”- an event that offered workshops on ICT4D for Mozambican civil society organizations (estimated to have had an outreach to 50+ local organizations). The event was organized in collaboration with the US State Department.

I assisted the Programme Officer of Democracy and Human Rights in the daily contact with civil society, where I transcribed and reported on meetings and workshops. I also put together a report for the Swedish International Development Agency on the progress on the Millennium Development Goals in Mozambique. I was responsible for text and /or translation of articles for publication on the Embassy's website and Facebook account and assisted with various IT-related tasks at the Embassy.

I was responsible for managing orders and financial tracking for the organization's Norwegian customers and projected and planned hardware orders with values up to USD 2 million. As part of my project management duties, I was part of the coordination of a larger migration of operational functions from European offices to Back Office sites in Bangalore, India, interacting daily with Indian, Spanish and Romanian colleagues. The project successfully transferred major computing processes, while opening for more client-related task, such as proactive communication and reporting, for the Barcelona office.
