I have dedicated myself to the heavy civil construction industry and happened to build a passion along the way for the work and the people who do the work. On paper my career appears to have made a traditional progression but in reality, this is far from true. I started my career working in an office where we wore blazers and took clients out to baseball games and fishing charters. These days I refine my farmer's tan and typically go home with muddy boots. I love both environments and wouldn't trade my experiences for anything. A few years back I stepped up into a field leadership position. I didn't grow up running equipment and only had a few opportunities to do so early in my career. I didn't even have my own set of equipment keys when I found myself in charge of a foreman and a handful of operators and laborers. The past 2+ years have been a wild ride and I've grown in ways that I never thought were possible. Will I ever be a master craftsman? Probably not, but I hope that my passion for seeing great work through to completion and developing other tradesmen and leaders along the way is making a positive difference in our industry. I've been fortunate to connect with the fine folks at BuildWitt and I believe in their noble mission to make the dirt world (heavy civil and extraction industries) a better place to grow a career.
