As a Consultant at Boston Industrial Consulting, I lead manufacturing improvement studies designed to optimize facility layout and product workflow through manufacturing centers across a wide variety of commercial industries. As a member of the Fleet Support Engineering team, I assumed increasing responsibility for developing repair criteria for damaged or otherwise unusable helicopter transmission and rotor head components. I was one of the primary engineering contacts in a group responsible for over $12,000,000 in savings due to scrap avoidance and process correction in 2013. I managed projects focused on improving component design to meet customer needs.• Investigate root causes of various transmission anomalies including chip detection, overheating, excess vibration and low pressure • Collaborate with vendors, customers, production engineering and the FAA as a project manager to implement improved gearbox and rotor head designs • Write and check disassembly and re-assembly instructions for dynamic system assemblies• Participate in daily meetings to provide status updates on my group’s tasks to management and to support the company’s delivery schedule • Issue inspection criteria for faulty, misused, and otherwise discrepant gearboxes and rotor head assemblies• Create reports detailing investigation findings and presenting corrective action suggestions for management to review • Perform stress and modal analysis using FEA programs to assist in advancing transmission and rotor head component design • Draw on knowledge of GD&T, strength of materials and material processing to create new repair options for helicopter components

As a student at UVA, I worked part time as a Program Analyst for the Department of Biomedical Engineering where I contributed to multiple early stage projects being funded by the Wallace H. Coulter Foundation Grant. I reported directly to the Coulter Program Director and presented my work on a daily basis.
