Involves in formulating strategy for the Electric Vehicle (EV) business at macro level for regional markets. Develop execution plans for various EV businesses for regional markets aligning to the overall strategy, with primary role focusing on Electric Buses (E-buses) and charging solutions. Lead in finalizing new bus model in design, specifications and timeline, to ensure product suitability and time-to-market. Departmental budget planning for EV businesses taking into account product development, product marketing, operations, etc. Lead in preparation and submission of all local and regional E-bus tenders. Manage new bus production project to ensure on-time delivery of new buses without compromising high quality standards and requirements. Review current/establish new tender specifications for new bus purchase program and plays a key role in subsequent tender evaluations.Work with Fleet Management team to establish optimal preventive maintenance program to ensure effective maintenance on vehicles to meet operational requirements as well as conduct audit checks for compliance on directives and procedures. Evaluate and introduce new technologies/innovation into the fleet to enhance productivity. Provide technical support, conduct follow up, execute and monitor the progress of engineering projects and campaigns.Analyse bus parts failures and recommend remedial solutions for buses, conduct engineering investigations, and liase with suppliers on the causes of bus accidents/incidents arising from bus defects. 2001 - Joined Equipment Engineering.Provide support and improvement on fully networked, automated equipment in cleanroom environment.Worked on Cartesian coordinates Pick and Place machines, Balance measurement machine and Automated Vision Inspection machines, etc.Solid knowledge in automated equipment control, behavior and hands on with different type of controllers and machine electrical and hardware components.Promoted to Team I/C after 2 years. Tasked with additional responsibilities of manpower planning and job distributions at a supervisory level.Stayed with the department for a total of 5 years.2006 - Transferred to Process Engineering Assumes the responsibilities of Process Engineer as and when required.Regularly initiate / participate in projects on product yield improvements, scrap reductions and process improvements, etc.Communicate and collaborate with other departments including Production, Product Quality and Equipment, etc. on all aspects of process or quality improvements. As the Chief of Department, my primary job is to ensure that daily checks and maintenance of electronic systems onboard ship are carried out accordingly, such that the syestems would be ready anytime the ship is to be deployed. Another aspect of the job requires me to maintain inventory level of system spare parts in order to ensure adequate working replacement parts are ready, prior to each sea deployment.Provide training/guidance to subordinates on complex operational and technical issues, both theoretical and practical.
