About Alex Gutierrez

I graduated in May of 2023 from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor's of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Prior to transferring to UMD, I obtained my Associates of Science in the chemical engineering track from Montgomery College. While attending Montgomery College, I worked in the NASA MINDS MUREP program with the Thermoelectric Generator group. The concept design for the generator aimed at the advancement toward sustainable life on the moon for the next NASA Artemis mission, winning third place in the NASA MINDS competition.I also worked as a research assistant, coating and characterizing alloy nanoparticles in stabilized colloidal solutions with the A James Clark school of engineering at UMD. I interned for W.L. Gore for the summer of 2022 as a technical engineer, working on atmospheric SO2 removal, reactor design, quality control, and data analysis.
