Oversee architecture of carnival.com and supports scrum teams in accomplishing their goals. Assess emerging technologies and how they can improve our architecture to better serve the business. Identify and help solve common challenges by engineering teams. Bootstrap new engineering initiatives. Implement and maintain business features, help with code reviews, and troubleshoot production issues. Push forward the architecture towards more cloud native solutions: adoption of containers and Kubernetes, high quality continuous integration pipelines, great observability and monitoring. Serve as mentor to other engineers.

Led effort to modernize our tech stack. This included breaking apps into smaller services, rewriting ASP.NET apps to ASP.NET Core, standardizing in React as our frontend technology, improving our application configuration story with Spring Cloud Config Server, and using Redis more heavily as our distributed cache solution.

Worked on the backend and frontend of carnival.com expanding the suite of online features offered to guests. Created lots of highly interactive experiences with the technologies of the moment: jQuery, Backbone, KnockoutJS, and AngularJS.

Automation of many City of Miami services to make them available to the citizenry via a unified Portal system. Using the latest Microsoft and web technologies.

Software design and development of .NET systems using the latest Microsoft technologies. Successfully developed software for Dole Food Company, The Coca-Cola Company, and IBM.

Maintained .NET system serving more than 100 hospitals nationwide in a multi-tenant environment. Responsibilities ranged from SQL Server query optimization, to refinement of business processes and UI enhancements in the web portal.

Created the initial prototype user interface of the www.patentssearcher.com system. Used Linux, Java, JSP, Tomcat, jQuery, shell scripting.
