Spent the first few months shadowing other Site Managers and acting as an assistant to them.- Following this I ran a small school extension as an independent Site Manager valued at 300-400k working directly under the Construction Director acting as Contracts Manager.- Responsible for all Site Manager duties from managing health and safety on site, ordering materials and managing labour which allowed the project to meet the deadlines of the project schedule and within budget.- Managed the particular challenges of the project including a fast turnover of trades requiring good planning and decisive decision making, a compact site in a remote location meant strong material and waste management on site and finally good communication with the headteacher was required to ensure our works did not disrupt their education schedules.- Lastly spent the latter stages of my employment independently covering Site Managers on annual leave on contracts up to £3m in value for weeks at a time, running the day to day operations of the site to keep the project on track.
