Hi! My name is Alex Hernandez I am a Computer Science major with a Business-Spanish Certificate from the University of Texas at Austin. My journey into the world of technology has been driven by curiosity and a lifelong desire to understand the inner workings of the digital world. Whether it is software development, game development, artificial intelligence, or computer systems, I have always been captivated by technology and its mysteries.I have the most experience with front-end development and plan to expand my skill set. Currently, I am learning back-end development to become a full-stack developer. After I graduate from college, I want to become a software engineer in order to utilize technology to develop software applications that enhance both the lives of individuals and businesses. Additionally, my additional interest in business drives my very long-term aspiration to work as a Chief Technology Officer, bridging the gap between technological solutions and business needs.Beyond my academics, I try to get as much hand-on experience as possible. As the Co-Executive, Web, and Legal Director at Jiagia Studios, I played a pivotal role in its incorporation. I manage our website, utilizing Shopify's Headless Development platform with Hydrogen and Remix, and ensure compliance to all business laws. Concurrently, I work as a Software Development and Marketing contractor for Feels So Good, a screen printing and design shop. I extend their website functionality using Shopify's Liquid Template language, published an e-commerce app on the Apple and Google Play Store, and implemented SEO strategies to boost website traffic.Additionally, I serve as a web team officer for Hook'd Magazine, a fashion magazine organization at my school. Here, I manage websites and plan various web-related projects to showcase our work and the portfolios of our members. My technical toolkit encompasses HTML/CSS, Javascript, Java, C, C++, Python, Shopify's Liquid Template language, Shopify's Hydrogen, Remix, ReactJS, Bootstrap, TailwindCSS, SQL, Flask, and TypeScript.My most recent achievement includes ranking 3rd place out of 191 teams at HackTX 2023, a hackathon organized by Freetail Hackers. I am excited to continue my journey where I can combine my appreciation for technology desire to help others so that I can make an impact on the world.
