Responsibilities:- Environmental & Permissions Lead for significant projects, including GF1 & GJ1 subsea cables.- Development & implementation of the Company's bespoke HSE Management System, including internal assurance planning & reporting.- Development of the Company's Environmental Sustainability Strategy while supporting GEL’s sustainability & Net Zero goals to enhance business performance and promote the company’s long-term interests.- Advisor on significant environmental impact and compliance risks associated with the Company’s core activities and significant projects, in accordance with regulatory and corporate standards - including COMAH risk & compliance for the Vale Power Station Lower Tier establishment.- Advisor on emerging environmental sustainability trends, issues, legislation and codes of practice.- Leading on the emergency response planning for the business.

Lead author of the 2020 Strategy for Nature for Guernsey and strategic and technical environmental advisor to the States during the development of the Government Work Plan and the green economy and blue economy support plans.

Project Lead, Project Director & Technical Lead roles delivering services to offshore energy industries, including: - Environment Impact Assessment;- Environmental & Social Systems due diligence & audits (including IFC PS, Equator Principles, EMS ISO 14001); - Building & assurance of Environmental Management Systems, sustainability frameworks & integrated ISO HSEQ management systems.

Subject Matter Expert & Project Lead roles delivering various Environmental services to the energy sector, including:- ESIA Lead for projects within the EMEA region including several maritime, offshore reclamation, renewable and mixed use coastal developments in Dubai, Angola, Sudan and elsewhere throughout Africa.- ESIA due diligence to inform financial transactions projects - e.g. diamond mine in Sierre Lione, Hydropower Project in Georgia, mine-to-port development in Liberia.- Marine Environmental Lead for large scale infrastructure projects such as South Stream Offshore Pipeline Project, South Stream, Black Sea and the Port Gentil and Associated Freezone, Gabon, OLAM. Whilst with Scott Wilson, Alex also found time to take up a 2 year secondment to their Bangkok office, where her role as SE Asia Enviroment Manager included the set up of an environmental services area within the region.

Key roles whilst at ERM included project managing the EIA/ ES for the Humber Gateway Round 2 Offshore Windfarm, fisheries manager for a large LNG project in Angola and various ESIA lead roles for marine O&G developments in Angola, Turkmenistan, Egypt, The Arctic, Azerbaijan, Qatar.

Role included:- Oil spill response & contingency planning; - Training, maintenance & deployment of OSR equipment;- HSE Risk Assessments & assurance;- Incident response, including incident command structure and compliance. Deployments to: Arctic, Georgia and throughout the UK either responding to oil spills or working with specialist OSR teams within the region.

Various marine resource management projects and environmental assessments world-wide including:- Research Coordinator for Greenforce, Pulau Bangii Marine Biodiversity Programme, Sabah, Malaysia;- Independent Researcher carrying out Marine Protected Area studies in partnership with CCC & the Philippine Reef & Rainforest Initiative, Negros Occidental, Philippines; - Marine Researcher, Bimini Biological Field Station (Shark Lab) in association with Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS); - Ecologist, Corvus Consulting, Northern Ireland.
