As a Product Engineer at HITEK Electronic Materials LTD, I lead the product development department, and oversee the development of 5 innovative products spanning multiple industries including medical, military, aerospace, automotive, and electronics. In my role at a local garage, I tackled a diverse range of responsibilities under this title.My primary focus involved crafting compelling visual content for vehicle advertisements, leveraging my skills in photography and videography. Inspecting vehicle features to create high-quality adverts tailored for online and local platforms.I also played a pivotal role in the garage's marketing efforts, promoting services, offers, and events through social media and local engagements. Proficient in software like Photoshop, After Effects, and InDesign, I created media assets to resonate with our target audience, ensuring each piece met rigorous standards.Additionally, I managed the store's eBay account, communicating with buyers and sellers, also overseeing the listing of goods. I also performed general administrative tasks, including customer transportation, logistical support for events, and premises upkeep.

As a technician, I specialized in installing insurance telematics and car audio accessories, including tracking, monitoring, and immobilization devices for both private customers and fleet insurance.On an average day, I completed 4-6 car insurance tracker installations, occasionally handling up to 6-10 depending on factors like device type, vehicle specifications, and travel distance.My duties also involved diagnosing and repairing faulty installations, as well as removing decommissioned units from transitioning fleet vehicles. Additionally, I frequently travelled to cover for absent engineers in various locations including Scotland, Cornwall, Devon, London, and Hampshire.

My main responsibilities covered fitting car parts such as bulbs, wiper blades, batteries, fitting travel, and audio accessories, and building trailers. Customer service through parts/sales advising, product troubleshooting assistance, working on the checkout and managing with customer enquires over the phone.Other tasks involved ensuring shelves and stands were stocked, helping maintain and organise stock in the warehouse, communicating with other businesses for sourcing car parts, returning faulty products, and troubleshooting product issues.I received plenty of positive feedback through online customer surveys.I worked here on a part-time basis while I carried out my commissioned work (August - December 2017). In February 2018 an opportunity for progression involving more hands-on experience arose which I pursued to further develop skills relating to my electronic skillset.

I worked for the faculty of Civil Engineering alongside JBA consulting and Hyrdotech, to further develop and improve a prototype flood demonstration model “Wetropolis”.Students from the Civil Engineering and the Maths department had produced a very basic interactive prototype, that shows the build-up of random rain periods to cause a flood and show how actions can be taken to control and mitigate flooding.The end goal is a high-quality interactive product, that can be taken to public and business events and academic institutes for educational purposes.The design required;- Improvements to prevent the model from leaking- Changes to allow setting up and packing away easier- Protection while in transport- An insertable river section, demonstrating how different surface textures can affect water flow.I redesigned the existing prototype in SolidWorks and used outsourced CNC to manufacture the next body. I hand-painted and decorated the material to look like real outdoor scenery, as the last model heavily lacked aesthetic qualities.I collaborated with Hydrotech for the construction and assembly of the product casing, waterproofing, and various other part constructions.

Blended learning module developer. Creating digital learning resources for a new module starting at University next year.Mainly animation work in this role.

I worked for a small design consultancy in Leeds for 9 months.On this placement I was involved with all sorts of projects big and small. 2 projects were a golf product, and alcoholic beverage product... Both began with research, turning into concepts, relaying with management and with the client to work on and improve concepts. Further development in CAD for both projects, and some prototyping with the drink product.I was involved with fair amount of animation work, helping to make advertising videos for a few clients, and for the companies own work. I used Adobe After effects in link with key shot to make the animations.Another project was clocks. I was mainly involved in hand assembling and shipping of the products for 12 weeks, followed by redesigning/updating components,artwork and packaging that we had issues with when assembling for roughly 4 weeks.The rest of the time I was mainly just helping out with the smaller projects or practicing using software.I did some logo designs - Sketching ideas, then making in illustrator and Photoshop.Door Canopys - CAD models, then rendering in keyshot

During the summer holidays after finishing my first year at university, I worked shifts at a busy local pub mostly pot-washing and food preparation, assisting plating up desserts, waiting on tables, cleaning and sterilizing the kitchen area at the end of a shift and I obtained minor bar experience.As summer is a very busy period for the pub, I regularly had to work under pressure and late hours.

My main responsibilities covered fitting car parts such as bulbs, wiper blades, batteries, fitting travel, and audio accessories, and building trailers. Customer service through parts/sales advising, product troubleshooting assistance, working on the checkout and managing with customer enquires over the phone.Other tasks involved ensuring shelves and stands were stocked, helping maintain and organise stock in the warehouse, communicating with other businesses for sourcing car parts, returning faulty products, and troubleshooting product issues.I worked in the bike hut for some time predominantly assembling bikes and organising stock.I received plenty of positive feedback through online customer surveys and even achieved an IMI qualification for audio fitting.
