My role focuses on opening, building, and maintaining pork market with non-EU countries. My main duties are:• Lead on actives relating to pork market access (MA) for Mexico and Chile. Furthermore, I organise logistics such as agenda, date, notes, reminders, invitations, update the tracker and collate supporting documents.• Chair the weekly meetings with the British Embassy to discuss MA priorities and activities.• Work closely with veterinary trade experts regarding market access polices, negotiations and the approval of export health certificates.• Line management of one EO.

Assistant Pathology Scientist in the Pathology Department. The role includes the provisions of laboratory assistance and support within the General Pathology and TSE teams, including the preparation and processing of fixed tissue samples into stained sections for diagnostic and research histopathology. My responsibilities as section lead consist of overseeing and managing a team of scientists responsible for the entire RNA extraction process for all COVID-19 samples tested via RT-PCR.Main areas of responsibility:-1) To act as the section supervisor for the RNA extraction process at the SARS-CoV-2 RNA testing laboratory.2) Assist the Laboratory Co-ordinator in the project co-ordination and operation of testing Covid-19 samples and to deputise for the Laboratory Shift Manager when required.3) To supervise the daily operation of a shift team with responsibilities for the line management, training and development of approximately 10 laboratory operators.4) Reporting to the Laboratory Shift Manager to ensure lab processes are carried out safely, efficiently and to the organisational quality standards required of ISO15189:2012 laboratory accreditation.5) To create and review technical documents and SOPS that comply with ISO standards using the laboratory QMS.

Duties:-1) To carry out surveys to assess herpetofauna diversity and abundance in Cusuco National Park, Honduras, using the survey techniques and following the standardised methodologies specified by the senior scientist and senior biodiversity survey coordinator before the start of the season.2) To ensure the data collected from these standardised surveys are input to the computers at Base Camp.3) To run the survey in such a way that allows students to assist with the survey in a safe manner.4) To act as a designated snake handler when necessary and ensure that no snakes are handled by volunteers or non-herpetological staff.5) To explain the purpose and results of the survey to participating volunteers.6) To lead practical workshops with students in Base Camp.7) To give at least one presentation as required as part of the evening talks programme about the herpetofauna project or a related study.8) To assist with supervision for any participating herpetology dissertation students present on site.9) To ensure a detailed report that includes all raw data is completed on site and to contribute towards the writing of papers based on this data for publication in peer reviewed journals.10) To documentation species using photography as part of the data collection process.11) To assist with habitat surveys throughout the season.12) To undertake such other duties on site as may from time to time be required for the safe and efficient running of the project.

I volunteered as a researcher for Operation Wallace and eventually became a group leader. My role as group leader was to lecture students on the conservation needs of caiman and explain my findings upon the niche separation and the parasite load of caimans. Also, I led multiple surveys into a variety of habitats and explained multiple caiman survey methods. For instance, I demonstrated the correct method of how to capture and handle a wild caiman as well as how to acquire a stomach sample. I have also assisted in a range of other animal related surveys such as mist netting and behavioural observations for primates and dolphins.
