Nvidia Professional Services Delivery EngineerNvidia Sep 2023 - PresentSanta Clara, Ca, UsCustomers purchasing on prem NVIDIA server clusters (i.e DGX SuperPOD) pay NVIDIA Professional Services (NVPS) to do large deployments of DGX H100 (and future) servers to their designated Data Center/colo. It is the work of an NVIDIA PS engineer to deploy the networking (ethernet/Infiniband) and compute server hardware according to their customer's infrastructure ensuring they meet the electrical, thermal, and power required by said hardware. It is then the responsibility of the delivery engineer to setup the software that orchestrates the cluster (Base Command Manager) and ensure that the cluster nodes and networking are performant to known NVIDIA baselines and their data center environment. -
Hpc Solutions ArchitectNvidia Nov 2019 - Feb 2024Santa Clara, Ca, UsMy primary responsibility as an HPC Solution Architect is to lead the development of a benchmark that is used to validate DGX server hardware from an electrical, thermal, and power perspective. The benchmark is used not only to test individual nodes, but to test a networked cluster of these nodes at scale in a data center. This test pushes the infrastructure to its limits to ensure that the NVIDIA hardware performs at peak performance. The end result was the HPL Burn-in Test, which is now a key element of DGX SuperPOD deployments. Installation teams and customers now have a means to establish high confidence that the target cluster deployed correctly, increasing customer satisfaction in the process for NVIDIA's flagship datacenter product. -
Enterprise Hardware Solutions ArchitectNvidia May 2016 - Nov 2019Santa Clara, Ca, UsOur team mission was to represent our end customers (Cloud service providers such as Microsoft, AWS, Google, and Facebook AI Research) in how they used NVIDIA hardware and software across a wide variety of use cases. My focus was to determine if their experience was reliable, consistent, and performant to their expectations pertaining to HPC workloads such as HPL as well as Deep Learning neural networks. If not, my feedback was critical improving said experience This was done for all DGX Server and workstation platforms including our latest in production the DGX A100. On the software side, I also reviewed NVIDIA software such as the CUDA Toolkit and tensor RT. Externally I helped to run and optimize benchmarks such as HPL and MLPerf. I was also instrumental on figuring out and documenting various processes when it came to on-site customer installations of DGX hardware. -
Senior Field Application EngineerNvidia Feb 2014 - May 2016Santa Clara, Ca, UsMy responsibilities include preparing our OEM customers and vendors to validate their NVIDIA Tesla or GRID based servers for sale. After validation, I continue to help customers with any issues they may have before and after they launch their products. -
Senior Applications Engineer, Power Management And Thermal ManagementIntel Corporation Jul 2010 - Jan 2013Santa Clara, California, Us- My primary responsibility was to enable power and thermal management technologies on a variety of mobile form factors including standard notebooks to Ultrabooks from the initial design work to the final launch product- Each component within an Intel platform has a means of throttling its own power to reduce its temperature and by enabling these features, customers can find ways to have innovative designs which find a balance between form factor and performance. - This is accomplished externally through face to face training and technology documentation. - Internally, enabling these features involved working with hardware and software development engineers, as well as hardware and software validation engineers.to ensure that the technology that we have communicated externally works as advertised. This work involved defining test plans and other validation related activities. Furthermore, benchmarking studies were coordinated in order to show the tangible benefit of our technologies to customers. -
Senior Platform Application EngineerIntel Corporation Jan 2008 - Jun 2010Santa Clara, California, UsAs a senior platform applications engineer, I was responsible for working with customers on understanding the the electrical, mechanical, thermal specifications of Intel Core mobile processors for laptops and other small form factor devices. Working with product marketing teams, I authored direct customer communications. I was deeply involved with the development of processor specifications working as the interface between customers and Intel processor architects to ensure Intel understood the needs of customers and that customers understood what needs could be addressed by future Intel processors. Considered a team lead, I trained two new engineers and continued to aid their development by giving them suitable tasks and responsibilities. Internally, this position required BIOS validation, driver validation, and hardware validation that was used to ensure high quality deliverables to the customer. -
Platform Applications EngineerIntel Corporation Jan 2006 - Dec 2007Santa Clara, California, UsIn this position I was the key owner of customer and public mobile processor collateral development, publication, and customer platform enabling. Processors worked on include the first and second generation Intel Core 2 Duo, Celeron and Pentium based on Core microarchitecture, and the first generation of Core i7, Core i5, and Core i3. I authored all major external customer processor collateral/documentation. Key accomplishments include a re-design of mobile, server, and desktop platform documentation/collateral for the 2009 platform which switched from the traditional three chip platform to a two chip platform and developing and providing numerous internal and external customer trainings. This content has been delivered through Technical Boot Camp trainings, Future Platform Enabling Tours (FPET), customer site visits, as well the Intel Developer’s Forum (IDF). Furthermore, I directly supported OEM customers via customer board schematics and layout reviews, message of the week communications, and attendance of customer calls with Dell, HP, and Lenovo. -
